Video
Videos and kayaking are two words that have been together for some time now. I am honored to be a part of the kayaking video collective, Rapid Transit Video. This collective showcases the latest and best on-line kayaking videos out there, and is also where a Video Journal of my time in New Zealand can be viewed. Big up, one-twos out to Spencer Cooke who edited the Journals and provided the equipment to make it all happen!!! One of the cool things about Rapid Transit, is that you can subscribe to all the videos as podcasts. Basically meaning, Free kayaking videos on your computer, iPod or iPhone when and wherever you like!
I have also been involved with the filming and/or promotion of a few DVDs as well…
The Eddy Feeling- OUT NOW!!!
The Eddy Feeling is Rapid Transit Video’s first DVD available for purchase. Produced by Spencer Cooke and Effort Inc. this video takes a look into the minds and motives of a wide variety of paddlers. From dorks like Chris Gragtmans to Tom McEwan (1st D, Linville Gorge, NC) hear why, what and how their drive to paddle exists. The film also spends quite a bit of time in the Linville Gorge…one of my favorite rivers in the WORLD!
NOTLD is the world’s first kayaking horror film!!! Produced by Effort Inc. and Deadman Productions, this film consists of a plethora of paddlers being killed by zombies. It’s actually a sick and twisted look into Spencer Cooke’s mind…I’d seriously recommend it for movie night with the girlfriend. It’s also the first and only video that I’ve had my own segment in!
The Green Race Movie produced by Chris Galloway and Horizonline Productions is dedicated to the spirit of the Green River Race…possibly the best kayak race in the world. Follow Chris as he develops as a paddler enough to actually race the Green River Narrows. I quite like the style of this movie, unlike many kayaking videos it has a story and is very entertaining for kayakers AND non-kayaking humans.
Produced by Effort Inc., Deadman Productions and Catalyst Productions, this video is what started the Donkey Era. Promoted as a “bunch of kayaking jackasses doing what they enjoy,” this movie has everything from steepcreeking in NC to ass-grabbing in Costa Rica. It should also be known that this film was Hee Haw Jone’s brave birth into the world of kayaking.
